A major manufacturer of office equipment was having difficulty reaching consensus on a corporate-wide strategic plan that would provide a consistent direction and leverage the company's strengths and capabilities.  Different proposals had been developed by individual departments within the organization, and they were unable to reconcile their divergent interests and views.  ESTM performed a detailed assessment of the current and emerging competitive environments, technological trends, and the company's internal capabilities, projects and plans.  We then used the insight gained from this assessment as well as a combination of data-driven evaluation methods and facilitation techniques to work across work across departments and levels within the company to develop and build consensus.  The result was both a product architecture and product strategy for improving the company's competitive position and profitability, and positioning the company for growth.
